What if you knew exactly when you would die?

Thanks to modern science, every human being has become a ticking genetic time bomb—males only live to age twenty-five, and females only live to age twenty. In this bleak landscape, young girls are kidnapped and forced into polygamous marriages to keep the population from dying out.

When sixteen-year-old Rhine Ellery is taken by the Gatherers to become a bride, she enters a world of wealth and privilege. Despite her husband Linden's genuine love for her, and a tenuous trust among her sister wives, Rhine has one purpose: to escape—to find her twin brother and go home.

But Rhine has more to contend with than losing her freedom. Linden's eccentric father is bent on finding an antidote to the genetic virus that is getting closer to taking his son, even if it means collecting corpses in order to test his experiments. With the help of Gabriel, a servant she trusts, Rhine attempts to break free, in the limited time she has left.

My Review:

Well first off, it's different to the other books i read. Yes there's romance in it like all my other books does, but this is about dying at the age of 20! & you get kidnapped to get married. What kind of world is that? I would not want to live in that world, I'm just saying. Crazy things happen in this. Overall, I like it. It's very interesting. I can not put this book down. :)

It's about Rhine getting kidnapped and suddenly getting married to this rich man. When she arrives there, she finds out the first wife which is Rose. They have a connection. Both of them are very similar to each other, that is why Linden chosen her. Rose and Linden are in love but Rose is about to die so Linden's father told him to go search some other wives. He was forced too, so he did and he picked out three wives. One of them is Rhine, her eyes were green and brown i think? I'm right, right? lol. Anyways, Jenna doesn't like Linden because he killed her sisters when they were in the car. She's the oldest out of all three of them.   Cecily is the youngest and she thinks it the most wonderful thing that ever happen to her since she was an orphan.

There's a relationship between Rhine and Gabriel. Gabriel is the guy who brings food to all the wives. Then after a while of bring food to Rhine, they get to know each other and suddenly developed feelings. I don't want to spoil anything about them but yeah :) It's not that much romance though so booo.

I definitely hate Linden's father. Ugh, he's just not a father to me. Bastard, doesn't let his son do ANYTHING. NOTHING. I mean seriously?! okay that's all I'm going to talk about this book :) I think you should definitely read this book if you haven't already! The second book is coming out in two months i think so check that out! It's called Fever.
