Waiting On Wednesday (18)

"Waiting On Wednesday" is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Title/Author: Witch Born (Witch Song #2) by Amber Argyle
Pages: 330
Published: Starling Publishing (September 5th, 2012)

Brusenna thought it was finished.

She defeated the Dark Witch, saving the Haven Witches from imprisonment and death. She found love and a place to belong.

She was wrong.

Haven is not the sanctuary it appears to be. Even love is in danger of slipping away like water through cupped hands.

Some things can't be saved.

A new threat merges with the old as the Witches’ dark history begins to catch up with them. Only Brusenna knows the extent of the danger and how to stop it, though doing so might cost her everything.

Including her life.

Will Brusenna be required to make the ultimate sacrifice?

Title/Author: The Gathering Dark
Pages: 352
Publisher: Simon Pulse (February 12th, 2013)

Keira’s hallucinating. First it’s a door hovering above the road; then it’s a tree in her living room. But with her parents fighting and her best friend not speaking to her, Keira can’t tell anyone about her breakdown. Until she meets Walker. They have an electric connection—and somehow it’s as if he can see the same shadowy images.

The more Keira slowly confides in Walker, the more intense—and frightening—her visions become. Trusting him may be more dangerous than Keira could have ever imagined. Because Walker is not what he appears to be—and neither are her visions

  3. I haven't yet read Witch Song but it's on my to-read list and if I like it book two is going to be added on my list too. They both sound incredible but only time will tell. And as for the second book, The Gathering Dark, I really like how it sounds. It's interesting and mysterious and potentially dangerous. I'd love to read it when it comes out. Great picks!

  25. Both of them look amazing, though I'll have to get to Witch Song first. *stares at looming TBR piles* Hmph. But those covers are great.

I hadn't heard of The Gathering Dark yet but it looks awesome, too. How strange, two books with the same title out in 2012 (The Gathering Dark = Shadow and Bone, the UK version, by Leigh Bardugo).

Thanks for dropping by my WoW
