BUBBLE TEA RECIPE –

INGREDIENTS:
3 oz tapioca pearls
1 cup brewed black tea
1 cup milk
2 parts white sugar
1 part brown sugar
Several cups of water.

METHOD:
Boil 3 parts of water in a pan and add both the sugars. Reduce heat and simmer until the sugar dissolves; the sugar syrup is ready for use. Boil 4 parts of water in a large pot.
Add the tapioca pearls to it and continue boiling for half an hour. Stir often to avoid the pearls from sticking together. Drain and rinse them with cold water.
Put them in the sugar syrup while ensuring that they remain completely immersed in it and stir them well. Transfer the sweetened pearls to a large jar.
Cool the brewed tea to room temperature and pour it in the jar containing tapioca pearls along with the milk. Add the sugar syrup to it and transfer the mixture to a cocktail shaker.
Put some ice cubes into it and shake well to mix. Pour the bubble tea into a serving glass and put a thick straw in it. Serve chilled.

Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson (July 3rd, 2012)

I heard great things about this book! I also love Peter Pan! I excited to read this book!
- Lisa Nguyen

Before Peter Pan belonged to Wendy, he belonged to the girl with the crow feather in her hair. . . .

Fifteen-year-old Tiger Lily doesn't believe in love stories or happy endings. Then she meets the alluring teenage Peter Pan in the forbidden woods of Neverland and immediately falls under his spell.

Peter is unlike anyone she's ever known. Impetuous and brave, he both scares and enthralls her. As the leader of the Lost Boys, the most fearsome of Neverland's inhabitants, Peter is an unthinkable match for Tiger Lily. Soon, she is risking everything—her family, her future—to be with him. When she is faced with marriage to a terrible man in her own tribe, she must choose between the life she's always known and running away to an uncertain future with Peter.

With enemies threatening to tear them apart, the lovers seem doomed. But it's the arrival of Wendy Darling, an English girl who's everything Tiger Lily is not, that leads Tiger Lily to discover that the most dangerous enemies can live inside even the most loyal and loving heart.

Title/Author: The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
Pages: 416
PublisherScholastic Press (September 18th, 2012)

“There are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St. Mark’s Eve,” Neeve said. “Either you’re his true love . . . or you killed him.”

It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive.

Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them—not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her.

His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.

But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he’s looking for much more than that. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little.

For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She never thought this would be a problem. But now, as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.

The Time Will Come (2)

"The Time Will Come" meme is hosted by Books for Company. Every Thursday l am going to list a book which l really want to read/keep meaning to get to. These are mostly books which have been on my shelf for awhile now but don't have to be, maybe you got it two weeks ago and really want to read it!

Timepiece by Myra McEntire

I've had this book since April. I love Hourglass! The book is already out on shelves so I can read it now. I have to wait another week to read this though... Don't you just love the cover? :) If you already read the book, tell me if it's good or not! Leave a comment down below.

                                        Goodreads:
Hourglass by Myra McEntire (I don't want to spoil the first book for you)

One hour to rewrite the past . . .

For seventeen-year-old Emerson Cole, life is about seeing what isn't there: swooning Southern Belles; soldiers long forgotten; a haunting jazz trio that vanishes in an instant. Plagued by phantoms since her parents' death, she just wants the apparitions to stop so she can be normal. She's tried everything, but the visions keep coming back. So when her well-meaning brother brings in a consultant from a secretive organization called the Hourglass, Emerson's willing to try one last cure. But meeting Michael Weaver may not only change her future, it may change her past.

Who is this dark, mysterious, sympathetic guy, barely older than Emerson herself, who seems to believe every crazy word she says? Why does an electric charge seem to run through the room whenever he's around? And why is he so insistent that he needs her help to prevent a death that never should have happened?

Pretty Crooked by Elisa Ludwig
368 Pages
Katherine Tegen Books (March 13th, 2012)

Willa’s secret plan seems all too simple: take from the rich kids at Valley Prep and give to the poor ones.

Yet Willa’s turn as Robin Hood at her ultra-exclusive high school is anything but. Bilking her “friends”-known to everyone as the Glitterati-without them suspecting a thing, is far from easy. Learning how to pick pockets and break into lockers is as difficult as she’d thought it’d be. Delivering care packages to the scholarship girls, who are ostracized just for being from the “wrong” side of town, is way more fun than she’d expected.

The complication Willa didn’t expect, though, is Aidan Murphy, Valley Prep’s most notorious (and gorgeous) ace-degenerate. His mere existence is distracting Willa from what matters most to her-evening the social playing field between the have and have-nots. There’s no time for crushes and flirting with boys, especially conceited and obnoxious trust-funders like Aidan.

But when the cops start investigating the string of burglaries at Valley Prep and the Glitterati begin to seek revenge, could he wind up being the person that Willa trusts most?

Partials by Dan Wells

Title/Author: Partials by Dan Wells
Pages: 468
Publisher: Balzer + Bray
Format: eARC, Netgalley
Published: February 28th, 2012
Buy/Information: Amazon | B&N | Goodreads

The human race is all but extinct after a war with Partials—engineered organic beings identical to humans—has decimated the population. Reduced to only tens of thousands by RM, a weaponized virus to which only a fraction of humanity is immune, the survivors in North America have huddled together on Long Island while the Partials have mysteriously retreated. The threat of the Partials is still imminent, but, worse, no baby has been born immune to RM in more than a decade. Our time is running out.
Kira, a sixteen-year-old medic-in-training, is on the front lines of this battle, seeing RM ravage the community while mandatory pregnancy laws have pushed what's left of humanity to the brink of civil war, and she's not content to stand by and watch. But as she makes a desperate decision to save the last of her race, she will find that the survival of humans and Partials alike rests in her attempts to uncover the connections between them—connections that humanity has forgotten, or perhaps never even knew were there.

My Review:

Well let's just say I cant believe I put this book down! I was always excited to read this. I'm happy that I finished it! Even though it ended with a cliff hanger... Plus the cover is gorgeous!

First chapter: The world is destroy by partials 11 years ago. Now they are trying to rebuild but the problem is they can't reproduce. Every time a baby is born, it dies in secs. They have no idea why. Kira is one of the nurses and she hates how baby are dying and no one is doing anything about it except write down information.

Kira is a independent person. A very strong woman. Even though she's only a teenager. If she says to do something, you will do it! I love everything about her!

Kira and Marcus: They are cute :) I love the romance between them. I love how they always argue with each other. They seem more real. Kira keeps turning Marcus down.

I love Samm! I love the relationship between him and Kira. I'm hoping to see more of them in the future! :)

I definitely love her friends. They are so supportive!

There's a whole lot of action in this book. I just love it so much! One of my favorite books in 2012. You will definitely love this book! I promise you!

Title/Author: The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden #1) by Julie Kagawa

In a future world, Vampires reign. Humans are blood cattle. And one girl will search for the key to save humanity.

Allison Sekemoto survives in the Fringe, the outermost circle of a vampire city. By day, she and her crew scavenge for food. By night, any one of them could be eaten.

Some days, all that drives Allie is her hatred of them. The vampires who keep humans as blood cattle. Until the night Allie herself is attacked—and given the ultimate choice. Die… or become one of the monsters.

Faced with her own mortality, Allie becomes what she despises most. To survive, she must learn the rules of being immortal, including the most important: go long enough without human blood, and you will go mad.

Then Allie is forced to flee into the unknown, outside her city walls. There she joins a ragged band of humans who are seeking a legend—a possible cure to the disease that killed off most of humankind and created the rabids, the mindless creatures who threaten humans and vampires alike.

But it isn’t easy to pass for human. Especially not around Zeke, who might see past the monster inside her. And Allie soon must decide what—and who—is worth dying for.

My Review:

First off, you have no idea how much I love this author! LOVE HER! The Iron Fey series was amazing! I would totally read anything by her! When I heard that she was going to make another series about vampires. I was really excited to read it.

First Chapter: Allison lived in a house with other people. The town was filled with vampires and human just like her. Every week or so, the registers would go to the building and let the vampire feed off of them. If they missed the appointment to go to the building, they would be killed. Allison and the others are unregisters. Since they are not registers, they have to go hunt food for themselves.

What I like about this book s the main character is really strong. She doesn't lean on anyone to protect her. She's independent. She's like a warrior. I love how she doesn't think about the guy she likes all the time. She actually is the one who protects everyone in this book. Which is amazing since I always see the guy protecting everyone.

Zeke....oh Zeke. I wish he wasn't so clueless. He would even kill the girl he likes. What a shame. Hopefully he improves in the next book. I want him to be a man.

It was a great book! I wouldn't say it was my favorite book of all time but I like it. I think it was kinda sow in some parts of the story. The beginning was awesome! A lot of action, loved it. The middle wasn't that great but the ending made up for it. The author gave us some hints on what is going to happen in the next book. It was quite easy to predict. I'm excited for the next book in the series! I definitely can not wait until The Lost Prince comes out!

Overall this is a great book! If you like action books, this is definitely for you! I'm pretty sure everyone will like this book.

Now she’s a girl who doesn’t believe in second chances... a girl who stays under the radar by baking cupcakes at her mom’s diner and obsessing over what might have been.

So when things start looking up and she has another shot at her dreams, Hudson is equal parts hopeful and terrified. Of course, this is also the moment a cute, sweet guy walks into her life... and starts serving up some seriously mixed signals. She’s got a lot on her plate, and for a girl who’s been burned before, risking it all is easier said than done.

It’s time for Hudson to ask herself what she really wants, and how much she’s willing to sacrifice to get it. Because in a place where opportunities are fleeting, she knows this chance may very well be her last...

Meet Josephine Foster, or Zo Jo as she’s called in the biz. The best pint-sized photographer of them all, Jo doesn’t mind doing what it takes to get that perfect shot, until she’s sent on an undercover assignment to shoot Ned Hartnett—teen superstar and the only celebrity who’s ever been kind to her—at an exclusive rehabilitation retreat in Boston. The money will be enough to pay for Jo’s dream: real photography classes, and maybe even quitting her paparazzi gig for good. Everyone wants to know what Ned’s in for. But Jo certainly doesn’t know what she’s in for: falling in love with Ned was never supposed to be part of her assignment.

Velveteen Monroe is dead. At 16, she was kidnapped and murdered by a madman named Bonesaw. But that's not the problem.

The problem is she landed in purgatory. And while it's not a fiery inferno, it's certainly no heaven. It's gray, ashen, and crumbling more and more by the day, and everyone has a job to do. Which doesn't leave Velveteen much time to do anything about what's really on her mind.

Bonesaw.

Velveteen aches to deliver the bloody punishment her killer deserves. And she's figured out just how to do it. She'll haunt him for the rest of his days.

I don't do dangerous.  Smart, über-careful, ordinary Samantha-that's me. But I just couldn't pass up a surprise kiss from my number-one unattainable crush. A kiss that did something to me...something strange. Now I feel hungry all the time, but not for food. It's like part of me is missing-and I don't know if I can get it back.

Then there's Bishop. At first I thought he was just a street kid, but the secrets he's keeping are as intense as his unearthly blue eyes. If he's what I think he is, he may be the only one who can help me. But something terrifying is closing in, and the one chance Bishop and I have to stop it means losing everything I ever wanted and embracing the darkness inside me....

What book should I read next?
